"I am planning on rebuilding the body work on this beast as the QLD laws only allow me to have a two seater. Apparently the law is thus, If you want a 3 or 4 seater in Queensland you will have to buy a compliance built trike but if you only want a two seater you can build your own as an ICV. I believe this is also an Australian wide law.

I use my trike daily in fine weather and love to get away for the weekends. I have taken to calling it COPPERHEAD for reasons I'll keep to myself. I intend to paint the new body Copper Cyprus which is another PRISMACOAT product that will change from Copper to Green. I must admit that once I saw OLIVIA I had to go the Copper. "

"I soon realised that there was one hell of a lot of work involved with building a trike. Twelve months later and plenty of blood, sweat and tears as well as bucks I finally registered the beast. My engineer for the project was Christen Arndt from Townsville and for those interested there is another Engineer in Townsville called Lindsay Stone.

Standard VW 1600 flat motor, twin port, standard carbies, Rewaco stainless steel exhausts, VW fully auto 3 speed transmission. Yamaha FJS front wheel with one disc, rear wheels are pre au falcon 16"x7".  50L concealed fuel tank below the dummy Harley tank, which allows me a comfortable 400km+ range."

The Trike started life as a Blue 1998 Bontrike but has had many modifications including an engine rebuild by Stan Pobjoy and a re-styled rear end (which looks terrific) to allow for the fitting of the twin Kadron carburettors.

My trike has been documented by an engineer and submitted to Qld.transport for approval to build. color will be black on the frame work and matallic purple on the body.

It has a 1600 VW back end with a Honda front end the body work is aluminium and the seat's are off a Bontrike. It's not a Bon or Oz Trike but when you get bitten by the trike bug then you just have to have to have one.

Started life as a black 2 seater with a 1600 VW motor. I then converted it to a red 3 seater & the VW motor was replaced with a Subaru Impreza motor. It pulls the trailer & the 3 of us around with ease now. There isn't much that I haven't replaced or played around with on the trike so far, but I am much happier with the way it is now & still improving it all the time.

2WD automatic EA81 fitted as a mid mount motor. Taken 18 months so far as cost is the issue. We hope to be able to drive it on the road by Christmas 2006

This is a very unique trike.  The only HS4 sold by Bontrike.  This was the last trike to roll out of the doors of Bontrike before Karsten closed his doors.

George & Linda are grandparents to 7 bikers in the making. They all want to get on Poppys' bikes. George also has a Honda 750/4 chopper as his daily ride. The trike is so both can get out in comfort for a ride. George & Linda are both keen historical re enactors (that explains the strange clothes and blunderbus in the photo) and perform at events around S.E.Qld. They have been married for 31 years and first met when George used to race bikes at Surfers Paradise Raceway and Linda used to work in catering there.There has just about always been bikes of some sort in their lives.

Home done conversion using a Datsun 1000 rear axle, extended swing-arm and 15 inch wheels. All inspections have been done and passed and we are awaiting the final word from the powers that be." Budget" is the big word in this project.  Swap meets, wreckers, word of mouth contacts, turning something into something else and many hours in the shed sitting on the "milk crate of contemplation" have lead to what will be a good run around trike. No road burner but it should prove hard to kill. It will eventually get the "chopper" treatment, a work in progress.
